veneer Arts and Crafts Guide
This versatile, classy product is
made in many species of wood and produced in three formats in hopes of
serving your varied needs:
Natural
Wood
Finish |
1. Two ply of 100% natural wood bonded together to
make sheets approximately (.017") thick. The two plies
improve strength of thin wood and allow for natural unfinished
wood on both sides. |
Paperbacked
Finish |
2. One ply of 100% natural wood with a paperback.
Total sheet thickness = (.010").
A. Lower cost than two ply
B. Thinner, easier to print, fold and copy

| Gloss Finish
Hi / Lo
Polyester
Coated |
3. One ply of natural wood with a special polyester resin
fused into each surface (front and back). Total sheet thickness
(.012"). This polyester resin surface is not porous. The wood
sheet becomes highly water resistant. The wood sheets' finished
surface is available in high gloss or low gloss.
- Finished wood lays very flat and prints very well, but ink
dries slowly so use fast dry inks.
- This format is translucent and makes beautiful art objects,
luminaries, lamp shades, Japanese well sections and window
decor.
- These wood sheets have tested acid free meaning they can be
used for photo mounting, archival applications, matt boards
and scrapbook layouts.
- The single ply finished micro thin wood is very special
since it can be molded, shaped and folded simply by heating
with a hair dryer, oven or hot wire. When approximately
170ºF, the polyester resin in the wood flows and the wood
sheet can be made into most any shape - Pedestals for art
objects, sculptures, frames, ornaments, boxes, folded covers,
etc. The shape will remain permanent upon cooling.
